Water System Guide

I lined the 1.0.0.2 hotfix against the allthings.how water notes from build 100-REV3. The official note cuts two machine prices and rewrites the purifier. The grade names come from the guide’s reading of the Water Trading Manual, so I keep that label on the table.

Grades you can actually name

The 1.0 write-up of the Water Trading Manual splits water by purity. Pure is 99.9% and up. High-Quality sits from 99% to 99.9%. Basewater is 98% to 99%. Ghostwater is 96% to 98% and is the grade that looks fine in the bottle. Rustwater is 90% to 96%. Gutterflow is under 90%. Selling a lot of mislabeled Ghostwater is treated as a crime in that same write-up.

Purity bands agree in allthings.how and Bonus Action’s independently published trade guide.
GradePurityWhat to remember
Pure99.9%+Needs a quality module path, not a bare purifier
High-Quality99–99.9%Bare purifier cap in that guide
Basewater98–99%Safe band for wine must
Ghostwater96–98%Looks clean. Common scam grade
Rustwater90–96%Faucet territory
Gutterflow<90%The cheap tap

Prices the hotfix actually changed

Steam’s 1.0.0.2 note sets Water Filter from 50 to 25 and Moisture Farm from 650 to 350. It also says the Water Purifier logic was rebuilt, and Dr. Jackson’s normal-difficulty markup moved from 25% to 15%. Do not copy September guide prices for those two machines.

Tool bases below are from the 1.0 guide, not from the hotfix text. Where a figure is only in that guide, the cell says so. The linked August playtest video is historical context. This audit retrieved its metadata, not a transcript confirming durability costs, so no durability-per-litre rate is asserted from that clip.

Tool bases cited by allthings.how for 1.0 unless the hotfix cell says otherwise.

Per-litre values (Pure 200, High-Quality 100, Base 40, Ghost 27, Rust 20, Gutter 10) agree in the two guide publishers. They remain guide values, not guaranteed transaction prices on every difficulty. Shared boundary labels are reproduced as published; scan the item’s in-game grade at an exact cutoff.

What the manual does not pin down

Dr. Jackson sells a Fridge at base 100 in the customer notes. I could not find a published upgrade ladder for that fridge, so there is no fridge-tier table here.

Spring water shows up as a Bottle of Spring Water Eleanor can sell on day 27, estimated 325 in that guide. There is no fixed map node. Premium spring water is described as an upper-level sale. Empty containers count as household goods; filled ones count as water, a rule called out in the 14 September patch.

The 1.0 water guide describes chemical removal before microbe removal. Earlier research attributed a different order to an August playtest video, but this audit retrieved no transcript that can verify that claim. Treat the exact priority as a single-source 1.0 observation, and check remaining contamination rather than assuming every tablet removes all chemicals.

FAQ

Where does spring water come from?

The published 1.0 notes only place a Bottle of Spring Water on Eleanor’s day-27 stock. No fixed pump is documented.

Why will the purifier not reach Pure?

The 1.0 guide says an unmodded purifier stops at 99%. Quality +100 is what that guide needs for 99.9%, and +200 for 100%.
