Mods & Workshop

I had an older note that said the store page did not list Workshop. The 1.0 announcement contradicts that, and the Workshop browse page was up when it was checked on 29 October. I rewrote the page around the announcement and left trainers off the site.

Workshop shipped with 1.0

The launch announcement lists Steam Workshop, a modding API, and mod localization. The 200,000-copy note says dozens of mods were already up. The Workshop page was reachable in this audit. Earlier browser research recorded examples including Rat Merge, Stack Storage, ModuleUpgrade and a Traditional Chinese localization. Subscriber counts and the full catalog total were not independently remeasured here, so no fixed total is claimed.

The title menu in the install notes is New Game, Load Game, Options, Credits, Mods, Exit. The first open shows a warning. Mods sit in Inactive or Active. You can search, open the mods folder, jump to Workshop, unsubscribe, and auto-sort.

Turn one on, and what to skip

The install walkthrough below and the MelonLoader version results are from allthings.how, a single publisher. Subscribe on Workshop, or drop a folder into the mods folder, restart, select it under Inactive, activate, and restart again. A high-permission mod asks a second time. The notes then show “Approved on this computer” plus a date. Deactivate also needs a restart.

MelonLoader 0.7.3 on the 100-REV3 menu build reported a failed init (Harmony 2.4.2 against 2.10.2) while the game still reached the menu. 0.6.6 crashed on boot in that note. The official Mods menu still worked. This page does not recommend MelonLoader. Nexus has a Probably Stolen section, but the detail pages were blocked when checked, so no download counts are quoted. Demo mods “probably won’t work” on 1.0, which is the publisher’s wording, not a certainty. No trainer or mod file is hosted here.
